Mariam Oyede is an Associate in the Firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice Group. She is actively involved in handling complex litigation and corporate-commercial advisory matters, with particular interest in commercial dispute resolution, tax and fiscal policy, and real estate law. She regularly develops legal strategies for contentious matters and has acted in disputes involving high-value contractual claims, property recovery, aviation, and constitutional law.
She has appeared before superior courts of record and is experienced in preparing appellate briefs and processes of Courts of first instance, as well as moving applications in Court. Mariam has contributed to major commercial disputes involving multi-million-dollar assessments and regulatory controversies, and has advised on share buybacks, employment structuring, and compliance frameworks.
Her transactional experience includes reviewing and drafting a wide range of contractual documents such as Share Buyback Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and Employment Contracts. She has supported clients across critical sectors, including energy, financial services, property development, and government revenue.
Mariam is also an active contributor to the Firm’s thought leadership and legal scholarship efforts. She authored a detailed analysis of the 2024 Federal High Court Practice Direction on E-Affidavits and co-authored an exposé on the revised Supreme Court Rules. She currently anchors The Law’s Corner, the Firm’s legal awareness and public education initiative.
